Juiced Media is backing Alice!

Juiced Media are backing Alice Heggie to win the 'Peoples Music Award' for best folk/jazz artist 2010.  As part of their involvement, Juiced Media will be providing PR coverage via Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites as well as creating a Blog style website for Alice to post updates about her journey.

Thanks to her friends and fans Alice is now one of two finalists through to win The Peoples Music Awards for Best Folk Artist.

On stage Alice is serene. Calm and composed as she glides across the stage and opens her mouth to the microphone for a soft ‘good evening’ to the audience. And often that is the only speech the audience will here from her all night, bar a thank you at the end.

But one to one in person Alice is surprisingly different; bright eyes, an infectious grin and a nervous giggle that soon turns into a laugh that fills the room

Having picked up her first guitar at the age of eleven, not knowing how or what she wanted to play, Alice Heggie has spent the last ten years cultivating and perfecting her unique style. But it is not just the strains of the strings on her slim bodied Crafter that will have you captivated; it is the hypnotic and haunting vocals that the guitar accompanies.

Alice did her first gig when she was sixteen at Local Hero Records, now known as Orange Street Music Club. Now, five years on, she has woven herself neatly into the fabric of Kent’s music scene and she is just as content doing backing vocals for other bands as she is singing melodies for breakbeat DJ’s. But of course she is never happier than when she’s the one who’s centre stage.

Over the years Alice has been spotted all over London and the South East playing bars, pubs, clubs, festivals and an agricultural show in Detling. She has also had the pleasure of playing on stage with a Dalek, courtesy of BBC Kent Introducing who listed her track ‘Iceland’ as one of their hottest records back in May 2008.

She has also been chosen to be on the soundtrack for Myspace online series ‘Freak’ and is now in the final two artists to win Best Folk Artist with The Peoples Music Awards in the ‘folk/jazz/classical/world’ category.

Now she’s progressing towards the completion of another EP, having released her first EP ‘Apple’ in 2005 and a limited edition ‘festival’ single in the summer of 2008, and aims to release it early next year.

Fusing pretty dresses and pretty songs, high heels and high notes, Alice is a visual and audio treat for your eyes and ears.
